Posts: 1,823 | NBA Teams' Picture/Logo-thing... What I mean by "Thing" is, like, "Spurs", or "Raptors", the animal, or name that IS the team. Kinda hard to explain, but I think you know what I mean. Anyways, I've been looking at them all, and I need to ask about these teams: Detroit Pistons - It's a horse in the logo, but a piston is a machine-thing, so, what would it really be? Denver Nuggets - There's a Mountain in the logo, (I assume because Denver's in Colorado, and the Rocky Mountains, y'know) but "Nugget". ??? Does it mean a Gold Nugget? Dallas Mavericks - There's a horse in the new logo, and a cowboy hat in the old logo. So does it mean a cowboy, or what? Los Angeles Clippers - Does it mean the Clipper ships? Los Angeles Lakers - I have NO idea what a "Laker" is. What is it? New Jersey Nets - Is it talking about a Basketball Hoop Net? New York Knicks - I know "Knick" is short for "Knickerbocker", and I looked up "Knickerbocker", and it says something about Dutch Settlers in New York. Is it talking about that? Philadelphia Seventy-Sixers - Where did the "76" derive it's name? Did Philadelphia have a really good player whose jersey number was 76 or something? Portland Trailblazers - What is a Trailblazer? Utah Jazz - Are those flames in the logo? Does it mean the musical Jazz, or is it just suggesting their team is as smooth as the musical Jazz? |
