NFL Week 5 Projected Final Scores Revealed - SportsLine.com (2024)

If any teams needed extended rest from a Thursday night game, it’s the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers suffered a pair of big injuries to skill players in last Thursday’s win over the Bears, but each might suit up in Dallas.

RB Ty Montgomery suffered broken ribs, while WR Davante Adams took a crushing blow to the head from Bears LB Danny Trevathan. Both players are expected to give it a shot -- something that may not have been possible on a typical six-day break between games.

Perhaps of bigger concern for Green Bay are the injuries to both starting tackles. Bryan Bulaga and David Bakhtiari each missed the game against Chicago. Green Bay has yet to play with its originally planned starting five on the offensive line.

The Packers head to Dallas to face a Cowboys team that is in need of a signature victory.

The defense was shredded by Jared Goff, Todd Gurley and the Rams last week, allowing 414 yards in a 35-30 Los Angeles win. The offense had a big day, but two big turnovers proved to be a difference.

CBS SPORTS: PRISCO’S PICKS FOR WEEK 5 OF NFL

Dallas dropped to 2-2 and is behind the Eagles (3-1) in the NFC East.

While the Packers hope to get several offensive contributors back, Cowboys are expected to return key defensive players.

LBs Sean Lee (hamstring) and Anthony Hitchens (knee) are aiming for returns this Sunday, and DE David Irving is done with a four-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs.

The Packers have beaten the Cowboys in six of the last seven meetings.

While Dallas and Green Bay hopes to get players back, Minnesota must forge on without a key offensive standout.

Minnesota is off to a 3-1 start, but rookie RB Dalvin Cook tore his ACL last week and is out for the year. QB Sam Bradford (knee) has beenin “day-to-day” limbo for four weeks. His status for Monday night’s game at Chicago is still unknown.
