Substory 26: Anaconda Escape

The Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth Anaconda Escape Substory can be found during Chapter 4: In The Ghetto, inside the Anaconda Shopping Center. Head to the center square on the second floor, and then look for a group of men wearing teal wrestling singlets and helmets.

When you approach, a film crew member named Onishi will tell Ichiban that a variety show has rented out the entire section of the mall to film a new competition. Onishi also tells Ichiban the name of the show is Anaconda Escape, and the Substory begins.

Right place, right time

Onishi reveals that the show is a major hit in Japan, and once a year, they rent out the entire Anaconda Shopping Center and invite celebrities to participate as contestants. However, they're about to start filming a "challenger's round" featuring normal citizens who won a chance to compete.

Onishi begins to tell Ichiban about a contestant called "Mister Anaconda" before another man , Imada, walks by saying that Mister Anaconda has backed out, and he blames a bad case of gout. Fortunately for the show, a suitable stand-in has stumbled onto the scene. Imada invites Ichiban to take Mister Anaconda's place, and Ichiban agrees.

Make a break for it

Imada then explains the rules: Anaconda Escape turns the shopping mall into a massive escape room, with multiple riddles to solve hidden throughout the area. However, while trying to solve the puzzles, Ichiban will be chased by the men in teal he saw earlier, and he must escape before being caught. Imada asks if Ichiban is ready to go, so select "I'm ready!" when prompted and Imada will prepare.

Onishi will then explain some finer details: Ichiban will have six minutes to reach the goal, and there will be two types of challenges:

• Laptops will give you quizzes to solve on the fly based on trivia about the shopping mall.
• Containers will need keys or passwords to unlock.

Completing a challenge will increase Ichiban's score, and higher scores lead to better prizes. Conversely, answering a Laptop question incorrectly will incur a 60 second penalty.

Also, if one of the men catches Ichiban during the run, they must be defeated in battle before Ichiban can resume. Battles will incur a time penalty; 20 seconds for a win, and 40 seconds for a loss.

Select "Let's do this." to get started, or you can gain information about the mall before beginning the game by choosing "Can I study up a bit first?"

Navigate to the different challenges in order to score points, while keeping an eye on the movement patterns of the men looking for you. It can be easy to find your way into one enemy's path while avoiding another, so stay vigilant.

There are a total of six points available during the challenge. Here's how to get the maximum score:

The Laptop locations and challenges are as follows:

• The first Laptop is just to the right of the starting area, under the overhang.
  • Question: True or false: Treasure Select Pawn is located on the 2nd floor of the Anaconda Shopping Center.
  • Answer: True.
• The second Laptop is after the mall splits in three directions. Head to the end of the left path to find it.
  • Question: What type of establishment is Thorstone?
  • Answer: A hat shop.
    • Answering this question will get you the combination for a nearby Container: 8931.

The Containers can be found in the following locations:

• The Red Container is on the opposite side of the hall from the second Laptop listed above. Use the provided password 8931 to gain access.
  • For opening this container, you'll receive three points and a Divine Water item.
• The Blue Container is on the right side of the second clearing, and it requires a key to open.
  • The key can be found under a bench in the narrow hall leading into the room with the blue container.

Head down the escalator to get to the goal and complete the Substory. The prize will change depending on how many points you score. The breakdown is below:

• Fail to finish before time runs out: A Silver Plate
• 0-5 points: A Silver Plate and a Smoke Bomb
• 6 points: Two Silver Plates and a Safe Key
